Celebrities greatly criticize LA and California’s ‘mismanagement’ of wildfires
numerous celebrities have voiced strong criticisms regarding the leadership of California and Los Angeles in managing the current wildfires, which have resulted in at least five fatalities and injuries to firefighters. Actor Zachary Levi has specifically targeted California’s Governor Gavin Newsom, accusing him of “mismanagement” and questioned why he has not taken meaningful action despite being aware of the wildfire crisis. Levi pointed out Newsom’s previous disregard for public health guidelines during the pandemic, hinting at a serious lack of character and accountability.
Dennis Quaid raised concerns about California’s water infrastructure and commented on Los Angeles Mayor karen Bass’s ineffective responses to the crisis, particularly during her return from a trip to Ghana. Comedian Adam Carrolla criticized the left-leaning officials in Los Angeles for being unprepared to face tough questions regarding their leadership and response to the wildfires. The ongoing situation has drawn attention not only to the immediate disaster but also to broader issues of governance and crisis management in the state.
Celebrities greatly criticize LA and California’s ‘mismanagement’ of wildfires
Numerous celebrities and personalities have called into question the “poor leadership” of both California and Los Angeles elected officials and their response to the raging wildfires impacting the state, a natural disaster that has so far claimed at least five people and injured four firefighters.
Actor Zachary Levi specifically directed criticism towards Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and the “mismanagement” of the wildfires occurring in the state under his watch. Levi was also perplexed over Newsom being “clearly” aware of the wildfires as one of California’s biggest problems and not taking the necessary steps to address them, adding that at some point this becomes “almost criminally intentional” with such inaction.
“Listen, this is the man who, in the middle of the pandemic, when people were being locked up for going and gathering together, he was at French laundry, having dinner with his friends,” the Chuck actor stated on Fox News’s Jesse Watters Primetime. “What does that say about the character of this man who is doing nothing to help the people of California? I don’t believe that he is, I don’t believe that he is. And so I think that there needs to be some kind of accountability that’s held to the leadership, not just of California, but also our nation.”
Levi was also critical of the Federal Emergency Management Agency over its handling of Hurricane Helene last year, in which the agency “completely dropped the ball” in helping victims in North Carolina who are still recovering months later. He then questioned what FEMA’s handling of Helene meant for the wildfire victims in Southern Carolina.
Actor Dennis Quaid, who starred in last year’s Reagan biopic, contended California has “an inherent problem” with its lack of water, adding that he has “a difference” in how the state’s infrastructure spends its money. He also addressed footage of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass being speechless when being pressed on the city’s handling of the fires, which was captured as she was returning from a trip to Ghana.
“I’m sure she got on the first plane coming back, but having nothing to say once she got here, I don’t know if that was edited like that, but you got to hit the ground running,” Quaid told Watters.
Comedian and radio personality Adam Carrolla, in his take on Bass’s silence, contended that Los Angeles is made up of “very left-leaning” officials who are not used to being asked difficult questions. It comes as Carolla’s 2017 testimony before Congress of initially being rejected from becoming a firefighter due to being a white male has gained newfound attention on social media.
“The state is run by a handful of environmental lunatics, like the coastal commission,” Carolla said on Fox News’s Hannity. “Eight or 12 unelected people deciding what goes on in the entire state. That’s how it’s always been: a handful of lunatic nut jobs running everyone else into the ground.”
Carolla also issued a warning to California officials over their handling of the wildfires, being that they would lose “a whole lot of votes” in the future, even in “deep blue progressive cities” where people no longer have houses due to their leadership.
Time for Newscum to be the next to announce his resignation.

President-elect Donald Trump has called for Newsom to resign from office amid the California wildfires over his and Bass’s “gross incompetence.” Fitness personality Jillian Michaels and former Nascar racer Danica Patrick, who advocated for Trump ahead of the 2024 election, have also called for Newsom’s resignation.
Join me in praying for the brave firefighters sacrificing so much to save our houses and our town. Jesus protect the lives of those battling the flames and the lives of those who couldn’t evacuate. #PalisadesFire
