‘Certifiable Narcissist’: Jim Acosta’s Vaccine T-Shirt Sparks Mockery
CNN reporter Jim Acosta was flooded with mockery Monday night after the former White House corespondent showed off a self-aggrandizing t-shirt boasting of his own reporting during the Trump era.
Acosta’s t-shirt read: “In 2020, I covered the impeachment trial & a caucus night (that lasted a week) & the primaries & the covid pandemic & the economic crash & the racial justice protests & Lafayette Square & so many rallies & the death of RBG (Justice Rush Bader Ginsburg) & the president’s 1AM coronavirus diagnosis & a Supreme Court confirmation & an election night (that lasted a week) & things by tweet & the recounts & the presidential transition & I have a commemorative shirt to prove it.”
The photo was taken while Acosta was receiving his COVID-19 vaccine, which was ironically in-part harnessed so quickly because of the Trump administration’s work.
“Just the shot in the arm I needed,” the reporter captioned the photo. “The latest studies show the Covid-19 vaccines are highly effective. Please do your part to end this pandemic. Get your shot!”

The t-shirt quickly sparked criticism, especially since Acosta is well known for his self-promotion during the Trump era, often shouting ridiculous questions in-line with left-wing activism as opposed to journalism.
“My goodness this t-shirt is quite the way of screaming that you’re a certifiable narcissist,” wrote NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck. “Jim Acosta has to be in the top ten of the most self-centered journalists and Americans period.”

Conservative Caleb Hull was similarly in disbelief. “Jim Acosta actually wore this shirt to get vaccinated. I’m serious. This is real,” he said.

Podcast host and writer Stephen L. Miller joked, “This is the most Jim Acosta thing Jim Acosta has ever done, even more Jim Acosta than Jim Acosta making his Twitter header a picture of Jim Acosta pointing at Jim Acosta’s Twitter avatar of Jim Acosta.”
Notably, Acosta’s Twitter header and avatar once included three photos of himself.

Townhall associate editor Beth Baumann mocked, “Next shirt should say ‘I’m the jacka** who pushed a White House intern because press briefings need to be all about me & then I can write ‘dear diary’ posts about my experiences & get made fun of on Twitter & think I’m the s***.’”
Acosta was once briefly suspended from the White House after he refused to hand over his microphone, physically blocking a young female staffer.

Conservative writer Becket Adams poked fun at the infamous Acosta “dear diary” meme, a reference mocking the reporter’s Trump-related whining tweets that often read like a young girl’s diary.
“Lmao he embraced the ‘dear diary’ meme for his t-shirt.”

“Jim Acosta got a shirt to commemorate himself,” noted The Blaze’s Sara Gonzales. “Epic levels of narcissism.”
