Charles Barkley, Shaquille and O’Neal did not have the most pleasant of times during NBA All-Star weekend. One Utah lawmaker was not pleased with their clownish antics during Sunday’s broadcast.

Chuck and Shaq had fun laughing, taking their respective places in Salt Lake City.

“These people are going to heaven,” Barkley spoke on the TNT broadcast. “Ain’t nothing to do in this boring a– city.”

Shaq Answered By saying “I never ate so much room service in my life.”

Barkley also explained that “you can’t smoke, can’t drink, these people are going to heaven.”

Salt Lake City hosted its first NBA All-Star Game in 1993. Barkley and Shaq seem happy to return after a 30-year break.

Salt Lake State Senator Nate Blouin did not appreciate what the Hall of Famers had to say about his town.

“Super disappointing take,” State Sen. Nate Blouin, D-Salt Lake, tweeted. “Do better Shaq and Charles! Bet y’all were just cooped up in the all star VIP areas and didn’t even get into the city, and are just perpetuating a reputation we’re working hard to change.”

Senator Blouin could be right to say that Barkley was too busy for Shaq and Barkley. “get into the city” It was not possible to live it but they may have been unable to appreciate the value of it.

Salt Lake City or Utah, in general, are not the first places that come to mind when you consider a night out or a place that fosters NBA culture.
