Chelsea Handler Apologizes For Canceling ‘Vaccinated And Horny’ Tour Last Minute, Says ‘It’s Not COVID’ From Hospital Bed

Comedian Chelsea Handler had to cancel a leg of her comedy tour last weekend after experiencing a medical scare that landed her in the hospital. The 46-year-old “Chelsea Lately” host gave an update to her fans from her hospital bed, reassuring them she “didn’t have COVID” and “wasn’t pregnant.”

Handler shared the news via Instagram stories after the announcement was made that she was canceling two upcoming shows in Oregon. The comedian is currently embarked on her “Vaccinated and Horny” standup tour.

“I had a scare at the hospital, and I don’t have COVID, and I’m OK, but I had to reschedule my shows,” she said in a video posted to her stories. The “My Horizontal Life” author gave the update while wearing a hospital gown with a white wire taped to her chest. Handler didn’t say why she was being hospitalized, but did give a few examples of why she wasn’t there.

“I will see you all when I see you, and I’m sorry that I had to cancel,” the comedian continued. “But I’m all OK. And I’m not pregnant.”

A statement on Handler’s accounts elaborated about how the host was “deeply saddened to have to cancel last minute.” She had previously been scheduled to take a month-long break from the tour after the two Oregon shows and is sticking to that plan, USA Today reported.

Since making the video, Handler was released from the hospital and is “safe and sound.”

“Everything’s OK,” she said in another video posted Saturday night on Instagram. In it, Handler is wearing pajamas with a sheet mask on her face while relaxing with her boyfriend, fellow comedian Jo Koy, and her dog. Koy also said Handler is “doing good.”

“I’m just going to chill out for a couple of weeks to recover,” Handler continued. “I’m good and will be back on track in no time.”

“I’m going through all my DMs – well, I’m trying to. Thank you for all the love, you guys – so sweet. Everyone is just so sweet. Thank you for caring so much about my well-being,” Handler said.

The canceled Oregon shows have been rescheduled for March.

Handler’s unidentified health scare comes just days after former “Chelsea Lately” staffer Heather McDonald suffered a medical emergency during a stand-up performance. The comedian was doing her set in front of a sold out crowd in Arizona when she suddenly collapsed, leaving her with a fractured skull and two black eyes, Daily Wire reported.

McDonald had just told a joke about being vaccinated when she collapsed, which led the audience to believe her fall was part of the bit.

“I don’t mean to brag, I don’t care, but I want you to know: double-vaxxed, booster, flu shot,” McDonald joked. “And, I’m going to be honest, I have the shingles shot, too.”

“Traveled, went to Mexico twice, did shows, meet-and-greets, never got COVID,” she said. “Clearly, Jesus loves me the most, seriously.”

Luckily, McDonald received medical attention and is fine now.
