Chiefs Kicker Fulfills Wish From Family Of Super Bowl Parade Shooting Victim
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker fulfilled a wish from the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a radio personality who was fatally shot last week at the Super Bowl victory rally.
The family reached out to Chiefs fans on social media about laying their loved one to rest in Butker’s jersey. They said Lopez-Galvan was wearing a white Butker jersey at the Chiefs parade when she was shot and killed, KSHB News reported.
“#ChiefsKingdom I need your help… the son of Lisa Lopez-Galvan wants his mom to be put to rest in a white buttkicker7 jersey .. the same she wore the day of the parade,” the since-deleted post read. “We can’t find them anywhere … anyone have any idea where we can look?”
The post caught the attention of the Chiefs’ chaplain, Father Richard Rocha, who got the word out to the right people to make it happen, the Kansas City Star reported.

“My wife Isabelle and I are heartbroken by the murder of Lisa due to degenerate violence,” Butker, a devout Catholic, said in the statement.
“Murder is a sin that cries out to God for vengeance and I pray the men involved in this tragedy will be brought to justice,” the statement added. “Hearing that she was a fan of my outspokenness for our shared Catholic Faith makes this even more personal. I am honored to provide a jersey to the family for her to wear.”
“While the family is mourning their loss and grappling with their numerous injuries, I will continue to pray for their healing and the repose of Lisa’s soul,” Butker’s statement concluded.
Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, along with the Chiefs franchise, have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to victims of the parade shooting.

In addition, the Chiefs, the team’s owner Clark Hunt’s Hunt Family Foundation, and the NFL made a combined donation of $200,000 to the special emergency fund.
Kelce donated a total of $100,000 to the Reyes family, whose two young daughters were shot following the team’s victory parade, through his charity Eighty-Seven & Running organization, the “Today” show noted. And Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe set up by the family of Lopez-Galvan.
