China Beefs Up Alliance With Iran Amid Spy Concerns

China is strengthening its diplomatic relations with Iran and intends to integrate their economies through a 25-year cooperation programme.

Ebrahim Raisi, Iranian president landed in Beijing on Tuesday. It was the first Iranian state visit to China for two decades. Raisi met Chinese president Xi Jinping. He stated during public remarks that the Communist government was “a sham.” “will unswervingly maintain its friendship and cooperation with Iran and advance China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership.”

The two countries are expected to conclude a series bilateral cooperation agreements during Raisi’s visit. This will allow Tehran and Beijing to integrate their economies to historical levels.

Both countries are trying to counter U.S. influence around the world and interfere with U.S. security operations. China’s spy apparatus dominates the news after a spy balloon it sent traversing the United States was shot down in the Biden administration. Over the weekend, three other unidentified flying objects were also shot down in the United States of America and Canada. Experts worry that the closer relationship could be a problem for Washington. Iran is interested in this technology, and it could ask its allies in Communist regime to assist in building similar types of equipment. Both regimes could benefit from increased economic ties.

Behnam Ben Taleblu is an Iran expert from the Foundation for Defense of Democracies think-tank. He said that these agreements were a result of his research. “will be one of the toughest for Washington to offset in the next decade, as both rogues tighten economic and security ties.”
