Record numbers of Chinese nationals are pouring across the southern border
Record Number of Chinese Nationals Cross US Border, Breaking Previous Record
In a stunning development, a record-breaking number of Chinese nationals crossed the southern border into the United States last month, surpassing the previous record set just a month prior.
According to figures from Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), a total of 4,797 Chinese nationals were encountered on America’s southwestern border with Mexico in November 2023. This marks the third consecutive month that a record has been set for monthly encounters with Chinese at the border, with 4,261 encountered in October and 4,042 encountered in September.
Not only that, but there were also 7,245 nationwide encounters with Chinese nationals by immigration officials throughout the entire country in November, showing an increase from 7,164 in October.
These monthly figures are a shocking contrast to the numbers from fiscal years 2021 and 2022, where there were only 450 and 2,176 southwest border encounters with Chinese nationals, respectively. However, in FY 2023, the number surged to 24,314, and in just the first two months of FY 2024, it has already surpassed 9,000.
House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) had previously warned that some of the Chinese nationals entering the United States had connections to the Chinese Communist Party and the People’s Liberation Army, based on information from a Border Patrol Sector Chief.

The release of these new figures coincides with the revelation that there were nearly 250,000 illegal immigrant encounters in November alone, breaking the record for the month.
Under the Biden administration, illegal border crossings have surged, with an estimated 1.7 million illegal immigrant gotaways being recorded since Biden took office in 2021. This is a significant increase compared to the 415,000 total reported gotaways for 2018, 2019, and 2020 under the Trump administration. Additionally, the number of illegal border crossings reached a record high in fiscal year 2022.

This surge in illegal immigration has not only affected Chinese nationals but has also seen a 1,000% increase in illegal immigration from various countries, including Afghanistan, Ethiopia, and the Dominican Republic, among others.
The record-high increases in illegal immigration have put a strain on major cities like Chicago and New York, which have struggled to accommodate foreign nationals. Chicago has allocated $51 million in funding to house and feed migrants, while 50 places of worship in New York City are now being used for this purpose.
Multiple public opinion surveys indicate that voters disapprove of Biden’s handling of the border. A Fox News poll, which surveyed more than 1,000 registered voters in late June, found that 62% of respondents disapproved of Biden’s handling of the border, while only 35% approved.
How can the Biden administration strengthen border control measures and implement stricter vetting procedures to address concerns regarding unauthorized individuals with potential ties to hostile foreign entities?

These increasing numbers raise concerns over potential national security risks and threats posed by unauthorized Chinese nationals entering the United States. The possibility of individuals with links to the Chinese Communist Party and the People’s Liberation Army gaining access to the country is alarming, considering the tense geopolitical climate between China and the United States.
The Biden administration has faced criticism for its handling of immigration and border security, with Republicans accusing the administration of being lax and allowing an influx of illegal immigrants, including those with potential ties to hostile foreign entities. The claims made by Rep. Mark Green further fuel these concerns and highlight the need for robust border control measures and thorough vetting procedures.
It is essential for the United States government to address this issue promptly and take necessary steps to ensure the integrity of the immigration system. Strengthening border security, increasing resources for immigration officials, and implementing stricter vetting procedures are crucial in maintaining national security and protecting the country’s interests.
Additionally, cooperation with international partners and sharing intelligence on potential threats can further enhance efforts to prevent unauthorized individuals from entering the United States. Engaging with the Chinese government on this matter is also of utmost importance to address any potential concerns and mitigate risks effectively.
As the number of Chinese nationals crossing the US border continues to rise, it is imperative for the US government to prioritize national security and protect the interests of its citizens. Immediate action and comprehensive strategies are necessary to address this concerning trend and ensure the safety of the nation.
