Chris Christie slams Trump in Sunday interviews.

Chris Christie ⁤Takes on Donald Trump

Republican presidential ⁢candidate and⁤ former New ‌Jersey⁢ Governor Chris Christie didn’t hold back ‌in ‌his ⁣recent interviews, where he⁣ aggressively⁤ criticized former President Donald⁣ Trump.

Christie, ‍a former federal prosecutor,⁢ confidently ⁢stated on ABC ‍News’ ‌“This Week” ⁢that he fully expects Trump to attend⁢ the first Republican primary⁤ debate next⁢ month. According to ‌Christie, Trump ‍wouldn’t want ⁤to⁣ miss the‍ opportunity ‌to witness‍ firsthand what ⁣Christie ⁣plans to ‍do to him on⁤ that stage.

Christie ⁤went⁤ on⁣ to highlight Trump’s⁣ failure to ‌deliver⁢ on key Republican‍ issues‍ during ⁤his⁣ four⁣ years‌ as ⁤president. He pointed out that Trump ‍promised to ‌repeal ‍and replace‌ Obamacare, but⁣ failed to⁤ do so despite ‌having a ‍Republican ⁣Congress. Additionally, Trump pledged ‍to⁣ balance⁣ the ‌budget but ended⁢ up‌ adding a staggering $6⁤ trillion to ⁤the national⁣ debt. As for the infamous border‍ wall, Christie emphasized that ‍Trump only managed to build⁢ 47⁤ miles of new ‌wall⁢ in four⁤ years, ⁤a pace that would ‍require‌ over a ‍century to⁢ complete the⁤ project.

Undeterred, ⁤Christie asserted ⁢that ⁢his path⁣ to winning ‌the primary⁣ lies directly through⁢ Trump, as‌ there ⁣is no alternative lane to⁢ run ‍in.

A⁢ Liar and a Coward

Later,‌ during ‌an⁣ appearance on CNN’s‍ “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper, ‌Christie⁢ continued ‍his scathing⁢ critique of the former president.

Tapper questioned ⁤Christie ‍about Trump’s‌ claim that⁣ he⁣ was “being ‍indicted” ⁢for the ⁢sake of ⁣his‍ supporters.‍ Christie didn’t mince ‌words, ‌labeling Trump as a “liar and a coward.” He made‍ it clear that Trump’s indictment ⁣was a⁤ result of his ‌own misconduct, specifically ⁣his‌ illegal retention⁢ of classified national‍ secrets after‌ being‍ repeatedly asked to return⁤ them.

Christie firmly stated⁢ that Trump’s outrageous‍ conduct led to his indictment⁢ and now he has ⁢the‌ opportunity to prove his innocence in court. However, Christie⁤ expressed⁢ skepticism about⁢ Trump’s decision to ⁢delay the trial until after ⁢the ⁣2024 election, suggesting that⁢ it ‍may not⁣ be in the‍ best⁤ interest of the American people.

Christie concluded ‌by urging Trump to ⁣resolve his criminal‌ cases before the upcoming⁣ election, allowing⁤ voters to make⁢ informed decisions based on all available information.
