Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated Sheryl Lee Ralph began Sunday’s proceedings by singing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” Also known as the black national song. Babyface, a twelve-time Grammy winner, followed her. She sang a wonderful version of “America the Beautiful,” Just before the eight-time Grammy winner brought the house down.
Stapleton is well-known for his hit songs such as “Fire Away” shared the news in January with his 1.8 million followers on Instagram that he would perform on the world’s biggest stage.
The line-up last year for Super Bowl LVI in Inglewood, California, included artist Mickey Guyton, who sang the national anthem; R&B hitmaker Jhené Aiko, who performed “America the Beautiful”; and Mary Mary, a gospel duo, who sang “Lift Every Voice and Sing” as they were accompanied by the L.A. Philharmonic’s Youth Orchestra.
It was previously announced that Rihanna would headline the halftime show following last year’s star-studded performance from Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.
