Cincinnati Bengals Running Back Joe Mixon Predicts Gas Prices Will Reach $10
Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon recently took to Twitter to predict that gas prices will reach $10.
Mixon who was recently ranked as the 38th best player in the NFL for 2022, wrote on Twitter, “Get ready for 10$ gas prices…”
He followed that up writing, “Stay Woke…”
According to AAA the average price for a gallon of gas in the United States is $3.883 as of August 24th. The state of Hawaii has the highest average price for a gallon of gas at $5.321. California is right behind Hawaii with $5.308. Arkansas has the lowest average price at $3.401.
The highest recorded average price for regular unleaded was $5.016 nationally back on June 14th. The highest recorded average price for diesel was $5.816 on June 19th.
“Drivers are now benefiting from gas prices that are $1.11 less than their peak in mid-June,” AAA spokesman Andrew Gross stated. “But now we need to keep an eye on the weather as hurricane season arrives. These storms can affect prices by disrupting oil production in the Gulf of Mexico and impacting large coastal refineries.”

AAA also notes that while the national average of $3.90 on August 22nd has declined 51 cents from a month ago, it is still “74 cents more than a year ago.”
Despite the significantly higher gas prices from a year ago, the Biden Administration is trying to spin the prices coming down from all time highs as a win. Never mind the fact your gas prices are still higher than they were a year ago and even higher than in 2020.
The White House posted to Facebook earlier this month, “The current drop in gas prices is the fastest decline in over a decade – lowering everyday costs for American families.”
What do you make of Joe Mixon’s prediction? Do you think gas prices will go up to $10?
