Trump cancels Iowa rally due to Tornado Watch, highlights 150 endorsements and lead over DeSantis in polls.

Trump’s Iowa Rally Canceled Due to Tornado Watch

Former President Donald Trump’s rally in Iowa was canceled due to a tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service. The outdoor event was scheduled to take place at the Laurisden Amphitheater in Des Moines on May 13, but the watch was in effect until 7 p.m., the same time Trump was scheduled to speak.

Trump Promises to Reschedule

Despite the cancellation, Trump assured his supporters that the rally would be rescheduled soon. In a post on Truth Social, he wrote, “Stay tuned, we will reschedule soon. Be safe out there!”

Trump’s Success in Iowa

Although the rally was canceled, Trump’s campaign announced that he had gathered endorsements from more than 150 elected officials and grassroots leaders in all 99 Iowa counties. This support signals “his commanding position in the Hawkeye State,” his campaign said.

Trump’s State Director Marshall Moreau stated in a news release, “We are proud to receive the support of Iowa’s most conservative and committed Republicans. These grassroots leaders have long fought for the America First Movement and are just the beginning of an army that President Trump is building to win the First-in-the-Nation Republican caucuses.”

Although the Des Moines event was canceled, Trump’s success in Iowa shows that he remains a strong contender for the Republican nomination.
