Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) shared excitement over President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Kash Patel for FBI director, citing how he “loves America” who would restore the public’s faith in the agency.

Trump announced the nomination of Patel, a former senior adviser to the director of national intelligence, in a social media post on Saturday, calling him a “brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter.” In reacting to Patel’s nomination, Tenny contended that the president-elect nominated a “true fighter” who would not do the status quo and instead “clean house” on the FBI.

BIDEN ADMINISTRATION, CONGRESS, AND UNIONS TRY TO ‘TRUMP-PROOF SCIENCE’

“He wants an FBI that’s accountable to the American people, that restores our system of justice and restores credibility,” Tenney said on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, guest-hosted by Jackie DeAngelis. “They’ve lost all credibility right now, and I think this is a tremendous pick. I think it’s really exciting, what President Trump has put out, especially in many of these new, sort of fresh faces that we’re going to see, not the same old people getting recycled in past administrations.”

Tenney also suggested Trump’s return to the White House is allowing the U.S. to appear strong on foreign policy again.

WHAT IS THE DEBATE OVER FLUORIDE IN DRINKING WATER

The Republican noted that the president-elect’s forthcoming inauguration played a role in the temporary ceasefire that Israel and Hezbollah reached last month, noting that the latter recognizes “a new sheriff” is coming to the White House who will resume his sanctions on Iran. Another global conflict occurring in the world is the war between Ukraine and Russia, which Tenney stated will see Trump ensure the U.S. is “not projecting weakness.”

“We care about the Ukrainian people, but we also cannot continue to have bad policy and keep throwing good money after bad in the way that the Biden Administration has done,” Tenney said.

Tenney said that the United States’s allies in the Middle East are “very excited” about Trump getting back into the White House and added that she, herself, is “counting down to January 20.”

Tenney has been advocating for the need to address the nation’s border security, specifically on the northern border, where “over 90%” of people on the nation’s terrorism watchlist are getting through. She pointed to how Trump’s nominee for border czar, Tom Homan, lives in the northern section of her district, and he will “send back criminal illegal aliens.”

Like Tenney, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) has also underscored the need for security along the nation’s northern border. She was nominated by Trump last month to be the U.S.’s ambassador to the United Nations.
