CNN Accuses White People Of ‘Digital Blackface’ And People Have Thoughts

If white people shared memes or gifs featuring black people and expressions in order to” convey comic relief or express emotions ,” CNN writer John Blake accused them of” digital blackface.”

Blake argued that black people” get a pass” for using the most well-liked memes and gifs, but that when white people did the same, they” inadvertently perpetuated one of the more insidious forms of contemporary racism.” Blake called these phenomena” radicalized reactions.”

Blake continued by quoting Lauren Michele Jackson’s 2017 Teen Vogue document, in which she made the case that when trying to express strong passions, people frequently cherry-selected gifs that featured black people.

Jackson wrote,” While reaction GIFs can and do any emotion under the sun, and and non-black users seem to particularly prefer them when it comes to expressing their most inflated emotions.” Images of black individuals, especially black women, are drawn to excessive joy, anger, frustration, and occasions for episode and gossip.

Later in the article, Blake went on to describe” modern blackface” as a” modern – day rehashing of minstrel programs.”

However, critics had a field day with the concept when Blake’s story circulated on Twitter on Sunday.

In a tweet, television host Clay Travis attributed the idea to the transgender movement, saying,” I’d love to hear an explanation of how posting gifs or memes of black people online is digitalblackface, but dressing up in real life is noble.” Please elaborate @ cnn.

” CNN boss Chris Licht: I want to make CNN a place of reasonable discussions again ,” said Nicholas Fondacaro of the Media Research Center. Separate cartoons on CNN “!

Siraj Hashmi continued,” CNN is more worried about electronic black than they are biological males wearing womanface IRL.”

Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald remarked that” the modern segregationists do everything in their power to keep people divided by civilization, prevent them from enjoying happy and natural relationships, forbid themselves from appreciating the culture and laughter of others, and generally demand that they have as little in common as possible.”

Ben Shapiro, a former editor of the Daily Wire, wrote,” When the need for racism profoundly outweighs the supply.”

Matt Walsh also contributed, noting how many people had criticized the product.

Is this the absolute worst ratios ever? He enquired.
