Colin Kaepernick “Didn’t Blow Everyone Away” at Workout with Raiders

Last week, we reported that Colin Kaepernick had completed his first workout with an NFL team in five years when he worked out with the Las Vegas Raiders. Unfortunately for him, however, it seems that this workout did not go as well as he may have hoped.

Kaepernick ‘Didn’t Blow Everyone Away’

Sports Illustrated reporter Albert Breer stated afterward that sources told him that Kaepernick was not overly impressive in the workout and that the Raiders likely won’t be signing him anytime soon.

“I’d say the door is being left open for a deal, but it probably won’t happen right now,” Breer wrote. “The workout itself went well. He didn’t blow everyone away or anything like that. But he showed he was in shape, and that his arm strength is still intact, even at 34 years old and after five seasons out of the league.”

Not All Bad News For Kaepernick

Despite this, it wasn’t all bad news for Kaepernick, as Breer can still see the door open for a potential return to the NFL in the future.

“The upshot for Vegas, as I see it, is twofold,” Breer wrote. “One, owner Mark Davis has long been an advocate for Kaepernick, and his cause, and so being the team to give him an opportunity lines up with where the boss is philosophically.”

“Two, there just aren’t a zillion NFL-capable quarterbacks out there,” he added. “So if you’re going to be a team that looks under every rock, as Josh McDaniels said the Raiders would be last week, this makes sense as one to turn over. For now, my sense is Kaepernick did well enough to keep himself in the discussion.”

Kaepernick’s History

Kaepernick is best known for his “woke” routine of taking a knee during the national anthem before his games as a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. Though he claimed he was doing this to protest against racial inequality in America, many saw this as a clear attack on the American flag and those who have fought and died for it.

While Kaepernick has not been signed by another team since leaving the 49ers after the 2016 season, he has signed multi-million dollar deals with brands like Netflix and Nike, where he has continued race-baiting and bashing the U.S. every chance he gets. Though he only just compared the NFL to slavery back in the fall, he’s now basically begging the league to take him back and let him play professional football again.

If Kaepernick was hoping that his workout with the Raiders would lead to him getting back on the field quickly, however, it seems that he’s in for a big disappointment.
