Colin Kaepernick To Produce Docuseries Zeroing in on a California Police Department
Colin Kaepernick, national anthem protestor, and Black Lives Matter advocate is now the executive producers for an ABC News Studios series that will focus on a series of shooting deaths caused by police officers in Bakersfield.
The Hulu series will concentrate on Jorge Ramirez Jr., a Bakersfield officer who was killed by Bakersfield police officers.
“In Bakersfield, deep in California’s heartland, things are not always what they seem,” This is the synopsis for each of the three-part programs. “A deadly hotel shooting makes the Ramirez family question everything they know about their town. Desperate to find out what really happened to their loved one, they soon learn they are not alone in their tragedy and fight for the truth.”
It continues, “It’s a story of twists and turns, corruption and cover up. Who do you turn to when the ones who are supposed to serve and protect you are the ones you can’t trust?
The trailer above features members of Ramirez’s family and makes serious allegations against the local police including murder, torture, drug dealing and corruption.
