Colorado dentist allegedly Googled ‘how to make poison’ before killing wife
A Colorado dentist, James Toliver Craig, aged 45, has been accused of killing his wife by the Aurora Police Department. This comes after he allegedly researched information about poisonous substances on Google. It is said that he used arsenic and cyanide to lace his wife’s protein shake to poison her.
Angela Craig, aged 43, was admitted to the hospital on March 6 after she complained about feeling dizzy and having severe headaches. Her medical condition worsened severely while doctors were trying to help her causing her to be put on a ventilator before being declared medically brain dead.
While investigating Angela’s death, detectives of the Major Crimes Homicide Unit discovered that Craig searched terms such as “how to make poison,” “how many grams of arsenic to kill a human,” “Undetectable poisons that show no signs of foul play,” “Is arsenic detectable in autopsy,” and “The Top 10 deadliest plants (they can kill you).” He used a shared computer at his workplace to conduct these searches.
According to an arrest warrant, it is alleged that Craig was in contact with an orthodontist from Austin, Texas, with whom he exchanged sexually explicit and intimate emails. Moreover, during his wife’s hospitalisation, Craig allegedly flew her to Denver, where Craig was caught researching ways to murder his wife undetected and provide poison that matched her symptoms.
It is further alleged that Craig had ordered arsenic on February 27, and he received it on March 4. Angella was admitted to the hospital two days later. Craig received cyanide poison after he pretended to be a surgeon and stated that he needed it for a medical procedure. The cyanide was delivered to Craig’s dental office.
“The suspicious details of this case culminated in our team of officers and homicide detectives working tirelessly to find the truth behind the illness and death of the victim,” stated Division Chief Mark Hildebrand.
James Toliver Craig is set to appear in court in Arapahoe County for his initial hearing on Thursday, accused of first-degree murder charges. The accused and his victim, Angela Craig, were married for over twenty years and had six children between the ages of 8 to 20.
