Comer: House Oversight Committee Likely to Subpoena Biden Family Members
House Oversight Committee ‘more than likely’ to subpoena members of Biden family: Comer House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said it’s “more than likely” the committee will subpoena members of the Biden family.
In an appearance on Fox News, Comer discussed the latest developments in the committee’s investigation into the alleged criminal misdoings of the Biden family. Following defiance from the FBI regarding a House subpoena, Comer said the next step will likely be the subpoena of individual members of the Biden family. The House is first trying to build its case to justify such a subpoena fully.

“We’re building the case because, obviously, the Biden family is not going to cooperate,” Comer said.
“We’ve requested documents, we’ve requested answers to the questions as to what the Biden family members were doing to receive these massive amounts of money from foreign nationals, and obviously they haven’t responded. So, when those subpoenas are issued, they are going to fight; they are going to try to tie them up in court,” he added.
Host Kayleigh McEnany then pressed Comer, asking him whether the House Oversight Committee would issue subpoenas to Biden family members.
“More than likely,” Comer responded. “If they refuse to come, what we are doing is trying to get all the evidence first to where if we subpoena them and they refuse to come, then we can win in court.”
“It’s all about winning in court,” he continued. “We have a lot more leverage today because we went the back door and subpoenaed the banks to get the bank records from the people that were wiring the money to the Bidens. They were expecting us to subpoena the Bidens on day one. We would have got nothing; we would be in court. But we knew who the intermediaries were, receiving the wires from the foreign nationals and then laundering it down to the Bidens. We subpoenaed their bank accounts.”
Comer said he would like to hold the Bidens in contempt of court if they refuse to comply with the subpoena, but it would be up to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

On Wednesday, Comer unveiled evidence obtained through subpoenas that “the Biden family, their business associates, and their companies received over $10 million” from companies belonging to foreign nationals.
Comer listed the names of nine Biden family members that he believes are implicated in the payments. The memo names Hunter Biden; James Biden; James Biden’s wife, Sara; Beau Biden’s widow and Hunter Biden’s ex-girlfriend, Hallie Biden; Hunter Biden’s ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle; Hunter Biden’s wife, Melissa Cohen; and three children of Joe Biden or of James Biden as having received payments.
