Comer ridicules ‘Missing Witness’ indictment: DOJ’s swift action is ‘astonishing’.
Rep. James Comer (R-KY) Mocks Department of Justice Charges Against American-Israeli Energy Expert
The Department of Justice (DOJ) made headlines on Monday when it announced eight charges against Israeli professor Gal Luft, an American-Israeli citizen and co-director of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security. However, Rep. James Comer took a different stance, mocking the DOJ’s timing and raising questions about their motives.
Luft’s Allegations and Charges
Luft, who is currently evading federal prosecutors, claims that he is being targeted because of the information he possesses regarding the Biden family’s business dealings in China. The DOJ has charged Luft with various crimes, including acting as an unregistered foreign agent, trafficking in arms, violating U.S. sanctions against Iran, and making false statements to federal agents. Luft vehemently denies these charges and has even released a video statement addressing the allegations.
Comer’s Investigation and Response
As the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Comer is leading a congressional investigation into the Biden family’s overseas business activities. He has previously spoken about what he believes to be a significant money laundering operation orchestrated by the Bidens in China, Romania, and Ukraine. In an appearance on Fox News, Comer expressed his concern over Luft’s corruption allegations and questioned the DOJ’s handling of the case.
Comer stated, “The timing is always coincidental according to the Democrats at the Department of Justice. Here’s what I know about Gal Luft: he was getting paid, like the Bidens, from CEFC. We want to speak with everyone that we can find who was also on the payroll of CEFC like the Bidens. And anyone who says we shouldn’t take Gal Luft’s allegations seriously discounts the fact that the Bidens wanted to share office space with CEFC, even going so far as to say that Hunter wanted to make an extra set of keys for both Joe Biden, Jill Biden, and the president’s brother, Jim Biden.”
Luft’s Interaction with the DOJ and FBI
Luft claims that he approached the DOJ and FBI in 2019, expressing his concerns about corruption within the Biden family. He met with a team of six officials, two from the DOJ and four from the FBI, in Brussels. Luft believes that he is now being targeted to prevent him from sharing his knowledge with congressional investigators. Comer acknowledged the credibility of Luft’s claims, highlighting the fact that the DOJ and FBI sent a team of officials to interview him in 2019.
Comer concluded, “It’s just amazing that the Department of Justice moves so quickly against some people.”
Gal Luft was paid by CEFC, the CCP-linked energy company.
The Bidens partnered with CEFC. Joe & Hunter planned to have office space. Bank records show CEFC wired millions to the Bidens.
Luft supposedly shared info with the FBI on the Bidens & CEFC.
I will request this record. pic.twitter.com/Ma6pN0k9LV
