The epoch times

Comer threatens to hold Wray in contempt over FBI’s failure to produce document on Biden’s alleged criminal activity.

House Republicans Threaten FBI Director with Contempt of Congress

House Republicans are not backing down in their pursuit of the truth. They have threatened to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress if he fails to produce documents related to an alleged bribery scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden.

The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has set a deadline of May 31 for Wray to produce FD-1023 records. If he fails to do so, they will initiate contempt of Congress proceedings.

Expecting Answers

Representative James Comer (R-Ky.) has made it clear that he expects answers. “Not only do I expect the document…I expect to know exactly what the FBI did to investigate the validity of the claim,” he said in a recent interview.

Allegations Against Biden

The events allegedly took place during the end of the Obama administration, when Joe Biden was vice president. He traveled all over the world, talking about foreign policy and foreign aid. The Republican-led House Oversight Committee issued a subpoena to the FBI on May 3 for a file containing allegations that a whistleblower linked Biden to a “criminal scheme” involving money for policy decisions while he was vice president.

Whistleblower Disclosures

Comer and Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) have received legally protected and highly credible unclassified whistleblower disclosures. “Based on those disclosures, it has come to our attention that the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) possess an unclassified FD-1023 form that describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions,” they said in a letter to Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland on May 3.

The Pursuit of Truth

The pursuit of truth is never easy, but it is necessary. House Republicans are determined to get to the bottom of this alleged bribery scheme involving Joe Biden. They will not rest until they have the answers they seek.
