Construction to Start on Border Barrier in Arizona
Construction work is expected to start next week to fix gaps in border barriers at Yuma Morelos Dam Project. The improvements are expected to be integrated with shipping container barriers that have been set up by Arizona.
Raul Ortiz of the U.S. Border Patrol tweeted photos of certain areas where construction projects were set to start. According to the chief, Yuma Sector will be redeveloped. “appreciates the cooperation and coordination with the State of Arizona as we get this project underway.”
Construction will start next week to connect with existing infrastructure and close four gaps near the Morelos Dam.

Chief Ortiz stated that the projects will fill in the gaps for the Morelos Dam area and “tie into existing infrastructure.”

In a settlement agreement in December, Governor Doug Ducey’s last full month in office, Arizona agreed to remove many of these containers, Breitbart Texas reported.
Breitbart Texas reviewed a Border Patrol Report that estimated that nearly 310,000 migrants crossed Mexico’s border into Yuma Sector during FY22. Unofficial reports claim that Yuma agents arrested more than 80,000 migrants in the first quarter FY23.
In November 2021, Breitbart Texas’ Randy Clark reported Many migrants are crossing the Yuma Sector’s border wall through large numbers.
