Convicted Murderer Uses His Last Words Before Execution To Attack DeSantis; Victim’s Children Release Statement
On Thursday, a convicted murderer was executed in Florida. He used his last words to attack the Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis The victim’s family praised the governor for his justice.
Faye Lamb Vann was murdered by Donald Dillbeck in 1990, after escaping from a Gadsden County work-release position. He was currently serving a life sentence in Gadsden County for killing a deputy sheriff. reported. He was trying to evade police enforcement when he saw Vann sitting in Vann’s car while she waited outside a shop with her family.
Vann fought back, and Dillbeck beat her to death and cut her throat.
“I know I hurt people when I was young. I really messed up,” Dillbeck’s final words were these: “But I know Ron DeSantis has done a lot worse. He’s taken a lot from a lot of people. I speak for all men, women and children. He’s put his foot on our necks. Ron DeSantis and other people like him can suck our d****.”
The children of the victim released a statement to Department of Corrections in which they thanked the governor for providing closure.
“11,932 days ago Donald Dillbeck brutally killed our mother. We were robbed of years of memories with her and it has been very painful ever since. However, the execution has given us some closure. We are grateful to Governor DeSantis for carrying out the sentence.”

Two Lee County deputy Dwight Lynn Hall (31 years old) was among those present at Dillbeck’s execution, according to the report.
“This has been 44 years of waiting,” Bill Rogers. “We’re the old guys now.”

Tony Vetter, Rogers, and Tony Vetter claimed that they were on duty that night when Hall was assassinated by Dillbeck. Dillbeck was being held hostage in Indiana for carjacking.
According to retired officers, Hall approached Dillbeck’s vehicle while he was asleep and Dillbeck ran off. A chase ensued. Dillbeck was able to use the weapon to kill Hall when he confronted him.
“One person’s bad enough. But he did two, and he did the second brutal,” Rogers also added. “Nobody should ever be ecstatic about somebody being put to death, but there had to be consequences.”
