Cori Bush Married Her Unlicensed Security Guard While Calling To Defund Police
According to a new report, Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) married her unlicensed security officer to whom she funneled campaign money while condemning police protection of poor people. Report Fox News.
Bush, a member the left-wing “squad” Cortney Merritts, her husband, paid $60,000 last year for private security. Merritts does not have a private security license and an open-records Fox News request to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department was unanswered.

“When asked if Merritts ever had a private security license, the administrator said that the ‘last security license issued to that individual expired in 2012,'” Fox News reported. “The records search — which covered the city of St. Louis and its neighboring St. Louis County — encompasses Bush’s entire congressional district.”
According to local regulations, official security must also be registered with the authorities.
Merritts was paid by the Missouri congresswoman while her campaign also included a contract with PEACE Security (a St. Louis company that provides personal security). Bush’s campaign filings reveal that PEACE Security received more than $225,000 while her husband earned $60,000.
Bush, for his part, is still alive and well. Assisting lead advocate The movement to “defund the police.”
CBS News asked her in 2021 if she was a woman. still supports Bush was hysterical when she accused her critics of cheering for their death and trying to defund police protection for poor people.
“They would rather I die? You would rather me die? Is that what you want to see? You want to see me die? You know, because that could be the alternative,” Bush . “So if I end up spending $200,000, if I spend 10, 10, 10 more dollars on it, you know what, I get to be here to do the work. So suck it up, and defunding the police has to happen.”
Bush isn’t alone in the “The List” “squad” It is possible to pay private security but demand police defunding. Fox News reviewed campaign filings and found that Rep. Ilhan Olmar, D-Minn. spent $65,000 on security costs during the 2022 elections cycle.
