Russia collusion hoaxers ignore Durham report revealing media disinformation campaign.
Dismissing the Durham Report: The Media’s Response
Despite the damning findings of the Durham report, which revealed the deep-state FBI officials’ attempt to frame President Donald Trump as a Kremlin agent, the same people who peddled the conspiracy of Trump-Russia collusion were always going to dismiss the findings. Special Counsel John Durham released the findings of a two-and-a-half-year investigation into the origins of the scandal on Monday, which found that “neither U.S. law enforcement nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.”
The Media’s Response
The New York Times, which was indicted by the report as a culprit of fake news, immediately brushed off the findings as a nothingburger. Network television hosts were also quick to dismiss the special counsel’s conclusions. MSNBC’s Andrew Weissman claimed Durham published a “big fat nothing,” while MSNBC host Nicole Wallace called Durham a “conspiracy.” Former FBI assistant director for counterintelligence and current MSNBC contributor Frank Figliuzzi told Wallace that Attorney General Barr “weaponized” Durham to produce a “tainted document.”
Over at CNN, the network’s lead cheerleaders for the years-long Russia-collusion hoax, Jim Sciutto and Brianna Keilar, sought to outline weaknesses in the Durham investigation. The Washington Post’s Philip Bump claimed the report underdelivered for critics of the collusion conspiracy.
Media Guests Follow Suit
Other network guests were quick to follow suit. CNN host Boris Sanchez and CNN reporter Evan Perez were almost ebullient that the Durham probe is over and they want you to know that not only was no one convicted, but they insist this was largely a total nothingburger.
Despite the media’s attempts to dismiss the findings, the Durham report has revealed the truth about the deep-state FBI officials’ attempt to frame President Donald Trump as a Kremlin agent.
