Court clerk confesses to releasing Trump charges early, citing human error.
A Fulton County Court Clerk Takes Responsibility for Premature Release of Trump Charges
In a recent interview with WSB-TV, Clerk of Courts Ché Alexander admitted to accidentally releasing information about the criminal case against former President Donald Trump before it was intended to be made public. Alexander explained that she mistakenly hit “send” instead of “save” in a courthouse program, leading to the premature disclosure.
Despite the error, Alexander stood by her actions, stating, “I am human.” Her mistake resulted in the indictment becoming public knowledge while the grand jury was still deliberating.
The charges were quickly deleted from the Fulton County Court website, initially causing confusion among media organizations who believed it to be an official announcement. However, the upload was later recognized as an accidental release.

When asked about the incident, Alexander explained that she had intended to save the legal documents as a “work sample,” but mistakenly sent them to the press queue instead.

That still doesn’t explain how they knew exactly what the charges would be…

Despite facing backlash and threats following the accidental release, Alexander maintained that she had no personal stake in the criminal case. She also acknowledged that her choice of words in a subsequent statement, referring to the charges as ”fictitious,” may have caused confusion. However, she clarified that she used that term because the documents did not have an official stamp at the time.
It is important to note that the charges against Trump are indeed real, despite the court error that led to their early release. The former president is facing 11 different charges, including a felony racketeering charge, in connection with allegations of attempting to alter the 2020 election results in Georgia. He has also been indicted in three other criminal cases this year, including two federal cases involving mishandling of classified documents and subversion of the 2020 election, as well as a case in New York related to falsifying business records.
