Noem at CPAC 2024: Biden can fix border crisis in a day
NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) Slams President Biden for Inaction on Southern Border
In a fiery interview at the American Conservative Union’s 2024 Conservative Political Action Conference, Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) did not hold back in criticizing President Joe Biden’s lack of action on illegal immigration at the southern border. She boldly stated that Biden has the power to “change everything within 24 hours” using the existing laws.
“Joe Biden saying he needed a bill to make a difference was a lie,”
Noem expressed to the Washington Examiner.
Noem firmly believes that Biden could immediately implement the same policies that were in place during President Trump’s administration. She specifically mentioned the need for a “Remain in Mexico” policy, border security, and allowing Border Patrol agents to perform their duties without unnecessary restrictions from the current administration.
“The most disturbing part is that Biden knew he could reverse his own policies,”
Noem emphasized.
Noem, along with other prominent Republicans, opposed a bipartisan border and immigration measure in the Senate, which even former President Donald Trump criticized. She described the legislation as “codifying illegal immigration” and enabling people to enter the country unlawfully.
“Since Biden can address much of the problem without additional legislation, passing a bill is unnecessary,”
Noem argued.
Noem has taken action as the governor of South Dakota to address the border crisis. She has sent the state’s National Guard for the fifth time to assist in constructing the barrier that she believes is effective.
Despite South Dakota’s geographical distance from the southern border, Noem emphasized that the consequences of the open border policy are felt by the people of her state every single day.

What actions and policies did Gov. Noem highlight as contributing to the current border situation, and how does she argue they have incentivized illegal entry
Rican Conservative Union’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem launched a scathing attack on President Joe Biden for his inaction on the southern border crisis.
Gov. Noem, a rising star in the Republican Party, did not hold back in her criticism of the Biden administration’s handling of the border situation. She accused President Biden of failing to address the crisis and shirking his responsibility to protect American citizens.
Speaking to a captivated audience, Gov. Noem stated, “President Biden has completely lost control of our southern border. His disregard for border security is not only concerning, but it is also dangerous.” She highlighted the escalating number of illegal border crossings and the surge in drug trafficking as evidence of the administration’s failure to effectively manage the crisis.
The governor also criticized the Biden administration’s decision to reverse many of the policies implemented under the previous administration, including the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) and the construction of the border wall. She argued that these policy changes have incentivized more migrants to attempt to enter the United States illegally.
Gov. Noem asserted that border security is a crucial national security issue. She emphasized the need for strong immigration policies that protect American citizens, prevent illegal entry, and uphold the rule of law. She questioned President Biden’s commitment to these principles, suggesting that his actions have prioritized political optics over the safety and security of the American people.
Furthermore, Gov. Noem criticized the lack of transparency from the Biden administration regarding the situation at the border. She called for greater accountability and urged the President to address the American people directly and provide answers about the actions being taken to address the crisis.
The governor concluded her remarks by expressing her deep concern for the future of border security in the United States. She called on citizens to hold President Biden accountable for his failure to act decisively and fulfill his duties as Commander-in-Chief.
Gov. Noem’s strong condemnation of President Biden’s immigration policies resonated with many conservatives in attendance. Her speech highlighted the growing frustration among Republicans and conservatives who see the current administration’s approach to border security as ineffective and harmful to the nation.
As the southern border crisis continues to escalate, it remains to be seen how the Biden administration will respond to the mounting pressure and criticism. Gov. Noem’s remarks at CPAC serve as a reminder of the urgent need for effective border policies and a call for accountability from the highest levels of government.
