Crowd Boos Kamala at Alma Mater’s Basketball Game

Veep gave a condescending speech to the Howard University team

Kamala Harris, Vice President, addresses Howard University players on March 16, 2023

On Thursday, Kamala Harris, Vice President of March Madness was booed and mocked for remarks she made about Howard University in a post-game remark.

“Until the last minute, you guys did that. You didn’t stop until the last second, and that is so inspiring,” Minutes after the blowout, the VP spoke to the team. The Associated Press reports that Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff were presented on the big screen at half-time.

Harris spoke to the team following the loss. “you guys are so good, you guys are so good” Even though the players “may not be feeling great right now.”

Twitter users reacted to the clip of her speech and called it belittling and cringeful.

“Why does it always sound like she’s talking to second-graders? So condescending,” Caleb Parke was a former Fox News editor.

“Every team that loses should have to listen to this as punishment,” Another user tweeted.

Harris graduated from the historically-black college with a Bachelor in Economics in political science in 1986.

“I mean, here we are in Des Moines. And they are a tough time, they work hard, they are so disciplined and it is a joy to watch them here in March Madness,” Harris spoke during the game. “So many of us who are here, we love our school.”
