Teen girl killed in McDonald’s sauce dispute, D.C. court rules.
Tragic McDonald’s Sauce Fight Ends in Fatal Stabbing
In a shocking incident in Washington, D.C., a 16-year-old girl has been accused of fatally stabbing another 16-year-old girl during a fight over McDonald’s dipping sauce. The altercation took place outside a McDonald’s near the popular U Street area of the nation’s capital.
According to security camera footage, the suspect allegedly lunged at the victim and stabbed her to death after an argument escalated. The argument reportedly began over sweet-and-sour sauce, leaving everyone stunned at the senselessness of the tragedy.
D.C. Superior Court Judge Sherri Beatty-Arthur expressed her disbelief in court, stating, “At the end of the day, someone is dead over a dispute over sauce.”
The suspect has been charged with second-degree murder while armed and pleaded “not involved” during the court hearing. The prosecutor highlighted that the suspect was the only one who brought a knife to the fight.
The suspect will remain in custody until the next hearing on Friday, as ordered by Judge Beatty-Arthur.
Rising Crime and Calls for Action
This incident adds to the growing concern over rising crime in D.C., particularly involving young individuals. Sadly, this marks the 13th death of a person under the age of 18 in the city this year. The alarming violence has prompted calls for immediate action, with one D.C. Councilman even demanding the deployment of the National Guard to restore order.
Many critics attribute the surge in lawlessness to years of anti-police rhetoric and policies that have undermined law enforcement efforts.

Even prominent figures like D.C. council chairman Phil Mendelson, who previously denied the existence of a crisis in the city, are now acknowledging the dire situation.
“You can get away with murder in this city,” he said point blank in July.

The local community, like Sabel Harris, chair of an Advisory Neighborhood Commission near the McDonald’s, is devastated by the tragedy. Harris expressed her horror, stating, “I walk by that McDonald’s almost every single day. My mind is just reeling from this.”
Harris is urging the mayor to take more decisive action and increase transparency and accountability in addressing the city’s escalating crime problem.
