“Daily Show” Ratings Still Embarrassingly Low With Guest Hosts
After Trevor Noah’s announcement, the media ignored one undisputed fact. “The Daily Show.”
Jon Stewart took over as comedian at Comedy Central in 2015. He couldn’t draw any crowds.
“The Daily Show” Each week, ratings were consistently low at the bottom of the late-night pack. Only “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee,” Get out of your misery TBS had fewer viewers last year.
Officially Noah has left “The Daily Show” Comedy Central was forced to call in guest hosts late last year until a permanent replacement was found.
- Leslie Jones
- Wanda Sykes
- D.L. Hughley
- Chelsea Handler
- Sarah Silverman
Can one (or several) guest hosts help the show end its ratings woes. Recently, the far-Left showcase attracted North of one million viewers Each night. Are there any fresh faces who could reverse the downward spiral in ratings?
Not even close.
Here are some of the things Jones did during her week-long guest hosting gig.

ShowBuzzDaily Sykes doesn’t have enough numbers for this week. Silverman’s numbers are not available until next week.
Comedy Central has yet not announced a permanent replacement to Noah. More guest hosts, including Hasan Minaj, John Leguizamo The disgraced former Senator Al Franken is still waiting for the call.
Is there any way to boost ratings for the show that is in trouble? It seems unlikely.

The far-Left perspective of the show is still in place for starters. Late night is full of liberal shows, from far-Left propaganda heard at “Jimmy Kimmel Live“To Stephen Colbert’s progressive rants “The Late Show.”
At this point, the liberal talk show market is saturated. Comedy Central doesn’t feel the need to hire a right-leaning host to see if there is an opportunity to improve things.
The late-night landscape is already shrinking. James Corden will be leaving “The Late Late Show” Soon, it will be replaced by a game series. Late last year, Noah and Bee left. “Desus & Mero” over creative differences.
The only bright spot in the landscape is? Fox News “Gutfeld!”

Every week, the new kid on block is either first or second. They beat established stars like Jimmy Fallon who have no broadcast TV show budgets or A-list celebrities.
Could “The Daily Show” Go the route of “The Chevy Chase Show?” Hollywood is currently in a mode of tightening their belts. Comedy Central might not be able to push forward progressive talking points but it may end up being the most important.
