UFC President Dana White revealed insights into his friendship with Donald Trump, highlighting a unique instance where he witnessed the former president in a vulnerable state. These revelations were made public during an episode of the Lex Fridman Podcast.
UFC President Dana White opened up about his friendship with Donald Trump and detailed the only time he has seen the 45th president “f***ed up.”
“I’ll call him on the phone as a friend, and be like, ‘Hey, you good? How you doing?’” White said about his relationship with Trump on Monday’s episode of the Lex Fridman Podcast.
During these calls, it is extremely rare to see Trump waver or become rattled, no matter what he is facing, White said.
“Unfazed,” he said. “Unfazed, like nothing’s going on, and he’ll start talking to me about this and that and all this other s***.”
However, there has been a singular moment where the UFC president has experienced a Trump breakdown.
“There’s only been one time,” White recalled. “I’ve never talked about this publicly, but, one time, I called him, and he was not good. He was a mess, and I’ve never heard him like that and I’ve never seen him like that. … When Ivana died.”
Ivana Trump, who died in July 2022, was Trump’s first wife and the mother to Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump.
“The only time I’ve ever seen him f***** up,” White said. “Obviously, as soon as I heard it, I reached out, and I have never … look at all the stuff that’s gone on with Trump, all the bad stuff that they say.
“They’re trying to attack him,” White continued. “They’re trying to ruin him, unfazed. I called him that day, and this is the first time I’ve ever seen that guy busted up and not good.”

The fact that the death of his first wife represents the only time Trump has been shaken shows the mental fortitude that the former president wields, White said.
“He does not get rattled,” he said. “He will walk through fire. He’s an absolute savage.”
