Dana White to speak at RNC before Trump accepts nomination
Ultimate Fighting Champion CEO Dana White is slated to speak at the Republican National Convention next week before former President Donald Trump accepts the GOP presidential nomination for a third consecutive time.
Trump’s acceptance speech next Thursday night will be immediately preceded by White’s address at the convention in Milwaukee Thursday night. The speaking arrangement was first reported by the Wall Street Journal and confirmed by a campaign official to the Washington Examiner.
White has appeared at the two previous RNCs where Trump accepted the nomination, speaking during the second night in 2016 and the final night in 2020. Trump’s acceptance speeches in 2016 and 2020 were introduced by the former president’s daughter Ivanka Trump — who has declined to be involved in the 2024 campaign but says she supports her father.
Trump has routinely visited UFC fights since leaving the White House in 2021, and his relationship with White dates back to when the former president hosted UFC events at his properties in the early 2000s.
The RNC in Milwaukee will begin Monday, with four nights of speeches and events culminating in Trump’s nomination acceptance Thursday evening. The theme for the final night of the convention, when White and Trump will speak, is “Make America Great Once Again” with the Trump campaign claiming the former president “will usher in a new golden age for America.”
Other speakers expected to take the stage during the convention include Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), along with expected appearances from other high-profile Republicans looking to hype up the party’s ticket ahead of the November election.
