Authorities are urging the public to be vigilant and report ⁢any sightings of 46-year-old Mark Fox, the escaped inmate. Fox is described as a “bald, ⁤White⁣ male standing at 6-foot-3 and⁤ weighing‌ around 210 pounds.” The sheriff’s office did not disclose the reason ‍for Fox’s initial⁤ incarceration.

However, the⁤ jail representatives ⁢did emphasize that Fox should be considered extremely dangerous.

Jake Six, a⁢ sheriff from the Bent County Jail in Las Animas, ‍Colorado, revealed to the KOAA outlet that the four inmates managed to escape ‌by breaking through a sheet rock ceiling in their cell, which was previously used as a kitchen. They then made their way ⁢out of the facility⁢ through the‌ restroom roof’s access.

Prior to ⁣the⁢ headcount, the inmates had⁣ cleverly⁢ stuffed blankets into their bedding‍ to⁣ create‍ the illusion that they were still sleeping in their ‌cell.

“The Bent‍ County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Colorado State Patrol and the⁢ Otero County‌ Sheriff’s Office, ⁣is conducting a search… and ‌notifications‍ have been sent out to the Las Animas community and surrounding law enforcement agencies,” stated the Bent County‍ Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.

While two of the escaped convicts‍ have yet to be ‍officially identified, there are reports ‍suggesting‍ that they have been apprehended and returned to jail.

Law enforcement officials have identified 34-year-old ⁤Benjamin Valdez as the third escapee. Unfortunately, Valdez ⁣was found dead in Pueblo ⁢County, with authorities suspecting a drug overdose as the cause of death.

The ⁤Bent County ‍Office of Emergency Management ‌is ‍advising the public to ‌keep their doors ⁤and vehicles locked ⁢as the search for ‌Fox continues.

“If you see anything suspicious or these individuals in‌ your area, please do not make contact,” officials said on Tuesday.

The ‍urgent search ⁤for Fox is taking place amidst a ⁣series of prison and ⁤jail breaks in recent months.

One notable⁢ case involved 34-year-old Michael‌ Burham, ⁢a skilled survivalist who was accused and tried for murder⁣ charges before escaping from a ⁤Pennsylvania prison. His escape prompted an‌ extensive manhunt, but he was ⁢eventually captured.
