Danny DeVito Teases Collaboration with Arnold Schwarzenegger on New Script
Dynamic Duo Alert: DeVito & Schwarzenegger Set for On-Screen Reunion
Get ready for a nostalgia hit with a fresh twist as silver screen favorites Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger team up once again! The iconic pair who gave us belly laughs in the 1988 hit “Twins,” are set to captivate us anew with an upcoming project.
At the spry age of 79, DeVito dropped this exciting tidbit during his chat with Fox News Digital. “He’s like my buddy. We have a good time together,” DeVito mused about Schwarzenegger. “We’re trying to do another movie together. We’re in the middle of — there’s a script being written. We want to get back on the big screen together.”
The Lasting Bond of DeVito and Schwarzenegger
The camaraderie of this memorable duo was on full display as they recently graced the stage together at the Academy Awards. Their shared filmography also includes the 1994 comedy “Junior.” However, movie enthusiasts should note that their next collaboration will not simply be a “Twins” sequel.
“Ivan, rest his soul; he’s no longer with us. Ivan Reitman, who did ‘Twins,’ who got us together on the big screen for the first time,” DeVito reflected on the late great filmmaker.
Reitman, known for directing blockbuster films like “Ghostbusters,” “Junior,” and “Kindergarten Cop,” passed away in 2022.
The friendship between DeVito and 76-year-old Schwarzenegger predates their professional ventures. DeVito humorously mentioned, “Not at the gym, because I don’t go,” hinting at the contrast in their fitness routines. Yet, DeVito looks forward to their screen reunion: “We always have a good time together. He’s a sweet guy.”
Among the many shared moments, DeVito revealed, “We smoke a stogie in the yard,” showcasing the relaxed and genuine kinship with his friend and co-star. “You know, we have a good time. I love him.”

The Journey to This New Venture
DeVito had previously hinted at this exciting project, indicating that the planned ”Twins 2″ was shelved due to Schwarzenegger’s foray into politics as the Governor of California in 2003.
“Arnold and I want to work together,” DeVito shared with GQ in a November 2023 interview. “We missed Twins 2, because he became governor — which, he should have done ‘Twins 2’ instead,” he quipped. DeVito teased the current collaboration as “a little project that we’ve been chatting about,” adding with his trademark humor, “I am way stronger than he is.”
What can fans expect from this reunion? While details are sparse, the promise of “just two friends, two guys, because we have a good time together” suggests that whatever DeVito and Schwarzenegger bring to the table, it’s sure to be infused with their dynamic energy and unique brand of chemistry that audiences have come to love.
