Dean Cain: Today Is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day – “God Bless Our Men and Women of Law Enforcement”

In the liberal world of Hollywood, it’s rare that our brave men and women in blue are given any respect by celebrities. That’s why it’s so refreshing that the “Superman” Star Dean Cain celebrates Law Enforcement Appreciation day today, honoring American police officers

Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

“Monday, January 9th is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. God Bless our men and women of Law Enforcement. Thank you,” Cain wrote on Twitter. “You are #Heroes.”

Others have been celebrating Law Enforcement Appreciation Day as well:

Cain Praises Law Enforcement

Cain has long been open about the love and respect that he has for law enforcement officers. In a 2020 interview, he said that it’s important to him that the American public “understand and respect law enforcement” as he explained why he became a reserve officer in 2018.

“I felt the way I could serve others was to step in myself, stand with the men and women in blue, and try and sort of bridge that gap that has started to exist here in the United States and elsewhere,” Cain said at the time, according to Daily Mail

Cain went on to lament the way that police officers are often treated by the media.

“Police officers are real heroes, all the time,” Cain said. “For someone who played a hero on TV to come and become one of these officers, and I would never call myself a hero, but to be alongside some of these real heroes is important.”

“I want people to understand and respect law enforcement. There are bad seeds in every group unfortunately and there has been negative stories, but I want to try and counter balance that,” he continued. “There are great thing you can do as a law enforcement officer, and I take great pride in that.”

‘They’re Heroes’

Last year, Cain had the opportunity to train with law enforcement in a de-escalation simulation.

“It’s a wonderful training tool for officers in nonlethal situations, and it’s a wonderful way to learn without having to get hurt or hurt anybody,” he told Nevada Daily at the time. “It’s like on-the-job training without any real-world consequences.”

Cain then got to serve as Firefighters’ Parade Marshal in the 95th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival,

“I am very humbled by the idea that I got to play a superhero, but I make no mistake about it, I got to play a superhero,” Cain said. “These guys, men and women, they’re phenomenal and they’re heroes. They’re out there to be heroes every day. That’s why I love them.”

After years of anti-police rhetoric running rampant in this country, Cain wants to play an active role in ensuring that police officers are finally given the respect that they deserve.

“I just want to help be a sort of conduit between law enforcement and regular people,” Cain said. “I think people need to look beyond the badge and see the human being.”

American police officers put their lives on the line every day to keep the rest of us safe, and they should be given all of the support and admiration in the world for that. We applaud Cain for his efforts to help them, and we would like to wish all of our men and women in blue a very happy Law Enforcement Appreciation Day!
