Deion Sanders shocks college football with debut victory against TCU.

Colorado Head⁤ Football Coach Deion ⁢Sanders Shocks‍ College Football World

Colorado head ⁢ football coach Deion⁢ Sanders, commonly referred to⁢ as “Coach Prime,” stunned the college football world on Saturday as his team⁣ upset #17 TCU, last year’s national runner-up, in a⁤ 45-42 shootout in Fort Worth.

“We told you we coming,” Sanders said on the field after the game when asked for his message for the fans. “We told⁣ you we coming.⁣ You thought we was joking. And guess‍ what? ‍We ‍keep receipts.”

Later, during a post-game press conference, Sanders ⁣said that the ⁤team was going to be consistent with its‍ performances “because‌ I’m here and ain’t going‌ nowhere. And I’m about to get comfortable in a minute. I’m about ‌to get⁣ comfortable in a minute.”

The Turnaround

The Colorado Buffaloes were an abysmal 1-11 last year ⁢under former head coach‍ Karl ‍Dorrell, who was widely seen as being inept and ⁢low energy and was fired at the end of‍ the season.

Sanders cut most of the players‍ from the team upon his ⁣arrival, telling‍ players: “I’m bringing⁤ my luggage‍ with me, and it’s Louis [Vuitton].”

The‍ 56-year-old coach then brought in more than 60 players, by far ⁤the largest new group of players to any team in college football. The group ‍included top transfers, like two-way standout Travis Hunter, and Deion’s son ‍Sheduer Sanders. He also brought in the nation’s top⁣ cornerback out of high‍ school Cormani McClain, and running ‌back⁣ Dylan Edwards, who is one of the fastest players in the country.

Sheduer Sanders broke⁤ the ⁤school record by ‌throwing for more than 500 ⁣yards and four ‌touchdowns in his first game‌ for the team.

Hunter ⁤picked off a pass near the end zone, had multiple ‍pass breakups, and had more than 100⁢ yards in receiving.

Edwards⁣ had 4 touchdowns, ⁤including a screenpass that he took 75 yards to ‌the endzone.

Sanders received widespread praise online from football‍ legends like JJ ⁤Watt over⁤ how significant his win⁣ was on Saturday.

“It cannot be ‌overstated‌ what Deion Sanders did today,” Watt said. “To turn⁣ the whole Colorado program around from what it was last season to today beating⁢ a ⁤team ⁢that played in the ‌National Championship⁤ last season… It’s one thing to talk about it. It’s another to actually⁤ do ‍it. Wow.”
