Demi Lovato Needed Facial Stitches After Freak Accident
Demi Lovato sported a head injury before a Thursday night appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and explained to fans that she got it from a run-in with a large, sharp crystal.
The 29-year-old pop star made a TikTok about the incident before going on the late night show. Lovato showed a photo of the gruesome forehead injury and its unlikely cause.
“Guess who hit their head on a crystal and has to get stitches before Kimmel tomorrow???” Lovato wrote in the caption. The video included the popular “They’re Gonna Know” audio clip — and featured Lovato mouthing “F***” at the end.
The “Cool for the Summer” singer went into more detail while speaking with “Kimmel” guest host Mark Rober Thursday evening.
“I was picking something up off the floor that I dropped,” Lovato explained. As a “huge fan of crystals,” Lovato went on to describe how a tall, sharp amethyst did the damage.
The singer elaborated about having to get three stitches the previous night.
“I called my doctor and I was like, ‘Hey, I just hit my face, do I need stitches?’ and he was like, ‘FaceTime me.’ So we FaceTimed and I was like, ‘I have Kimmel tomorrow. What do I do?’” Lovato continued.
“So I did what any sane person would do and made a TikTok,” the singer quipped.
Lovato has sung the praises of crystals used for their healing benefits before.
In a 2021 Washington Post story, the “Heart Attack” singer showed off crystals that were at the bottom of a bottle of fragrance which Lovato had mixed by hand. The pop star allegedly uses crystals for their “healing properties,” an idea that’s been widely embraced in Hollywood.
The singer was on the show promoting a new album, “HOLY FVCK,” which is set to be released on August 19.
“I’m pissing people off by living my truth,” Lovato shared in a TikTok post about the new album. “And I’m f***ing okay with it.”
The Daily Wire previously reported how Lovato staged a pop career funeral to signify changing into a new kind of recording artist.
“The process of making this album has been the most fulfilling yet, and I’m grateful to my fans and collaborators for being on this journey with me,” Lovato shared in a statement.
“Never have I been more sure of myself and my music, and this record speaks that for itself. To my Lovatics who have been rocking out with me since the beginning and those who are just now coming along for the ride, thank you. This record is for you.”
