Democrat mayor admits guilt in 140 child pornography cases.
Former Mayor Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges
A shocking case has emerged involving a former Democratic mayor who has pleaded guilty to 140 charges related to child pornography possession and distribution.
Patrick Wojahn, who served as mayor of College Park, Md., for nearly eight years, resigned from his position in March following his arrest. He has now admitted to 60 counts of distributing child pornography, 40 counts of possessing child pornography with the intention to distribute, and 40 counts of possessing child pornography.
Wojahn, known for listing his pronouns in his Twitter bio, cited “mental health” concerns in his resignation letter.
What makes this case even more disturbing is Wojahn’s connection to the Biden administration. In a 2019 interview, he referred to then-South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg as his “buddy” and credited Buttigieg’s mentorship for advancing his career. Wojahn even shared pictures of himself with Buttigieg and claimed they frequently spoke on the phone. Buttigieg is now President Joe Biden’s transportation secretary.
Prince George’s County state’s attorney Aisha Braveboy expressed her satisfaction with Wojahn’s guilty plea, calling the case “horrific” and emphasizing the importance of accepting responsibility for such horrendous crimes.
Unfortunately, Wojahn is not the only Democrat to be involved in child pornography cases. Stacie Laughton, a former Democratic New Hampshire state representative who identifies as transgender, was arrested in June on child pornography charges. This marked at least the fourth arrest for Laughton, who was previously jailed in 2022 for stalking a woman, leading to her resignation from the legislature.
Another example is Jerry Harris, a former Biden campaign surrogate, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison last year for sexually assaulting a minor and soliciting sexual images from a child.
Rise in Child Pornography
Disturbingly, the past decade has witnessed a significant increase in child pornography cases. According to the Demand Project, a child-abuse prevention group, there has been a staggering 2,500 percent rise in arrests over the past 10 years.
