Democrat to vote for major GOP energy bill meant as response to Biden agenda

Democratic Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (TX) said that he will vote for the Republican energy bill this week, saying it would help ensure reliable domestic energy production and reform the federal permitting process.

Gonzalez told the Washington Examiner in a statement on Wednesday that” we must raise federal environmental review and facilitating steps in order to fully realize the benefits of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, are competitive on the global stage, and maintain the British people have access to safer roads and bridges and reliable and affordable power.”

THE GOP Policy TO CONSULTE BIDEN’S ENERGY Mission IS CONTAINED IN HR 1.

He continued,” While this system is far from ideal, it is still a step forward.” ” I’m hopeful that we can advance this problem and provide for our constituents by working in a bipartisan and parliamentary manner.”

The Lower Energy Costs Act, also known as H. R. 1, unifies the main goals and initiatives put forth by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Natural Resources, and Commerce Committee. It will be put to a maximum House vote on Thursday.

A portion of the significant climate policy that Democrats passed and President Joe Biden signed last year would be repealed by the bill. Gonzalez cast a vote in favor of that policy.

H. R. 1 will be vetoed by Biden, according to the White House, who called it a” thinly veiled licence to foul” on Monday.
