House Democrats couldn’t bring themselves to applaud Martin Luther King Jr. on Wednesday.
After several votes, the House Republicans failed in their attempt to elect a speaker. Texas Republican Chip Roy appointed Byron Donalds from Florida.
Roy began the nomination — which challenges Kevin McCarthy, the outgoing GOP minority leader, for the top position in the House — by highlighting Donalds’s race as Democrats nominate New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries.
“Now here we are, and for the first time in history there have been two black Americans placed into the nomination for speaker of the House,” Roy spoke before the fourth vote.
The proclamation was received with standing ovation and roaring applause as the lawmakers at each end of the chamber celebrated this historic racial milestone, 158 years after the fall of American slavery.
“However,” Roy continued, “we do not seek to judge people by the color of their skin but rather the content of their character.”
Republicans stood once more to cheer the phrase, which was first popularized in 1963 by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. two miles west at the Lincoln Memorial. Most Democrats on the aisle, however, were too enthralled with a form identity politics that is obsessed by skin color and remained seated with both their arms crossed.
The contrast between these two parties speaks volumes about American race relations.
Democrats couldn’t celebrate the famous line from the 20th-century civil rights icon because color blindness is no virtue in the church of wokeness, the new secular religion to take over the Democratic Party.
A pair of left-wing racists was just one example of the lens through which Democrats view skin color. They entered American homes in December. went on “Dr. Phil” To accuse white women inherent racism.
Regina Jackson Turner and Saira Raho, who are both well-known for their talents. charging white women $2,500 each for a dinner at which guests are told how they’re white supremacists, went on the daytime program to promote their new documentary “Deconstructing Karen.”
When a white woman seated next to Dr. Phillip McGraw refused to capitulate to Rao and Jackson’s accusation of racism, instead insisting “I’m not racist,” Rao cut her off.
“Yes, you are,” Rao yelled at the alleged white oppressor. “Yes, you absolutely are. If you don’t see race, then you don’t see racism, and then you uphold racism.”

“It doesn’t faze me at all,” Marni says. “When we all bleed, we bleed red.”
“I’m just going to drop the bomb here, that’s white supremacy,” Rao responded. “Colorblindness is white supremacy. Do not teach your kids to be colorblind.”
This is the dominant worldview among woke activists and has crept into Roy’s mainstream Democratic Party.
