Democrats Support Biden After Raising Concerns
For Biden, Pelosi herself acknowledged just last week that she was concerned about the president’s cognitive decline. During a press conference on Capitol Hill, Pelosi admitted that the president “has some limitation of his vision and cognitive ability,” prompting speculation about his ability to serve as commander-in-chief.
While some Democrats have defended Biden’s mental acuity, others have suggested that Vice President Kamala Harris should take on a more prominent role in the administration. Rep. Mike Quigley, D-Ill., urged Biden to consider stepping aside and letting Harris take over, while Rep. Angie Craig, D-Minn., called on the president to drop out of the 2024 race entirely.
