Under the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography Victim Assistance Act, Tatum will also have to pay restitution and various assessments. Additionally, he will be required to register as a sex offender wherever he resides or works.
The evidence presented in court revealed that Tatum had recorded a minor while she was undressing and bathing. He also had access to other videos and images of sexually exploited children. Tatum went even further by using ”deep fake” websites to alter images of children who were already clothed, making them explicit.
U.S. Attorney Dena J. King emphasized the gravity of Tatum’s actions, stating that he knew the long-lasting impact of sexual exploitation on victimized children. She also highlighted the misuse of artificial intelligence to victimize children and expressed the commitment to prosecute predators who exploit technology for harm.
Tatum’s arrest led to the discovery of over 1,000 child pornography titles in his possession. He was found guilty of multiple counts related to child pornography production, transportation, and possession.
