DeSantis Calls Putin A ‘War Criminal,’ Expands On Prior Comments About Russia’s War On Ukraine
Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, referred to Vladimir Putin as a” war crime” and claimed that his earlier remarks about the conflict in Ukraine had been mischaracterized.
The most recent remarks by DeSantis, who is generally regarded as a front-runner for the presidency in 2024 if he should enter the race, were made during an exam with journalist Piers Morgan, in which the former president also dismissed Trump’s political criticisms. DeSantis was questioned by Morgan about his support for the arrest warrant for Putin that was recently issued by the International Criminal Court( ICC) for purported war crimes committed during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
As seen in a video of their conversation, DeSantis declared,” He’s the army crime.” The government emphasized,” I do think he may be held responsible ,” but added that the United States does not recognize the ICC’s control.
Vladimir Putin, according to Ron DeSantis, is a war crime who lacks the ambition to accomplish his goals.
Putin is essentially a gasoline station equipped with numerous nuclear arms.

In response to a question Fox News host Tucker Carlson posed to current and potential GOP 2024 presidential hopefuls, DeSantis also criticized his remarks from last week regarding Russia’s ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The government gave a brief response that in part cautioned against intensifying the fight, but he garnered attention for his claim that” a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia” is not one of the few” critical national interest” that the United States has. His statement drew condemnation from some more conservative Republicans who were more aggressive.
Morgan said he questioned the government about using the term” regional difference” in a demo of his meeting with DeSantis, which will be broadcast on Thursday evening on” Piers Morgan Uncensored” by the New York Post.
Well, DeSantis said,” Well, I think it’s been mischaracterized.” It’s obvious that Russia invaded( last year ), but that was incorrect. In 2014, they invaded Crimea and took that; that was incorrect.
The government claimed that he was referring to Crimea, where there are many cultural Russians, and” where the battle is currently taking place, which is that eastern border area Donbas.”
DeSantis continued,” I didn’t say Russia had a right to that, and so if I may have made that more explicit, I could have done it, but I think the bigger issue is, okay, Russia is neither showing the ability to take over Ukraine, topple the government, or unquestionably harm NATO.” That’s a positive way. Simply put, I don’t believe that’s enough of an interest for us to increase our role. I don’t intend American troops to be involved it.
DeSantis also emphasized that it is absurd to believe that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was justified in some way. The government, however, made it clear that, in his opinion, opposing a fight does not entail getting more involved in trying to put an end to it.
” I’d give it back to Ukraine 100 % if I could snap my fingers.” However, the truth is that America’s role in the escalation with more arms— and ground troops, in my opinion — would be incorrect. That was the argument I was making, but Russia’s invasion was a mistake. DeSantis claimed that taking Crimea was a mistake. It should be obvious that Russia did not have the right to enter Crimea or to leave in February 2022.
Trump and DeSantis may be competing for the Democrat election in 2024, but they appear to support Putin. Trump concurred with Morgan’s evaluation that” Vladimir Putin is now an bad, murderous dragon” in an discussion from last year.
