DeSantis clarifies RFK Jr. remarks: He’s not part of federal agencies.
Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis clarifies remarks on RFK Jr.
Last week, during an interview with Clay Travis, DeSantis was asked if he would consider having Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as his vice presidential running mate. DeSantis immediately dismissed the idea due to RFK’s strong leftist leanings.
However, DeSantis did express agreement with RFK’s stance on Dr. Anthony Fauci and the corruption within health bureaucracies. He suggested that it might be beneficial to “sic” RFK on these agencies.
Contrary to media and online speculation, DeSantis never suggested appointing RFK to lead any federal agency. In a follow-up interview with Megyn Kelly, DeSantis clarified his position.
“For the CDC and FDA, we will have a Doctor/PhD-type, like Jay Bhattacharya from Stanford who was right on COVID. We won’t have individuals who are part of the revolving door,” DeSantis explained.
DeSantis emphasized that his use of the term ”sic” was meant to hold these agencies accountable and bring about transparency from an external perspective.
“Outside the agency, and getting answers…” @RonDeSantis clarifies his comments this week about Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. – and teases @DrJBhattacharya for a role at CDC or FDA.
