DeSantis embraces conservative victories in Florida, warns of the Left’s potential to ruin the nation.
Gov. Ron DeSantis: Taking on Biden and Defending America
In a bold and passionate statement, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has set his sights on defeating President Joe Biden in a 2024 matchup. He firmly believes that if Biden remains in office, “the left is gonna absolutely destroy this country even more than it is.”
DeSantis proudly highlights his impressive Florida voting record, having won the 2022 gubernatorial election by a remarkable 20-point margin. He attributes his success to appealing to a diverse range of voters, including Hispanics and Republican women, by using “bold colors, not with pale pastels.”
The Florida governor shared these thoughts in an interview clip with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody, which will be aired in full on Friday.
DeSantis: A Strong Contender for 2024
Consistently polling as the No. 2 choice for Republican voters in the race for the 2024 Republican nomination, DeSantis is a force to be reckoned with.
DeSantis believes that his success in turning Florida from a purple state to a red state through “bold leadership” can be replicated on a national level to defeat Biden.
Championing Conservative Values
DeSantis has made headlines with his unwavering commitment to conservative values. He has passed laws that restrict gender identity and sexual orientation discussions in schools and prevent transgender youth from accessing gender-related treatment.
As the only elected official in the nation who has successfully “beat the Left back on these things,” DeSantis stands firm in his convictions.
The Disney Feud and Republican Unity
The ongoing feud between DeSantis and Disney has become a hot topic within the conservative movement. DeSantis has criticized fellow Republicans for “taking the side of Disney.”
With pride, DeSantis declares, “We stood our ground on that, and we beat Disney and signed that into law, and we ended Disney’s self-governing status.”
DeSantis and Trump: Leading the GOP
As the two front-runners for the GOP, DeSantis and former President Donald Trump are forces to be reckoned with.
When questioned about Trump’s stance on abortion, DeSantis called out the former president for considering Florida’s recently enacted six-week abortion ban “too harsh.”
DeSantis signed the Heartbeat Protection Act into law, which prohibits abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. He believes that Trump’s lack of acknowledgment for this significant achievement is disappointing.
A Vision for America
DeSantis envisions a future where the successes of Florida can be replicated on a national scale. He firmly believes that if they can achieve even half of what they have accomplished in Florida, “we are going to be in really good shape as a country.”
