DeSantis opposes trans politics in military, citing small group’s impact.
Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis: Putting Mission First in the Military
During a recent interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on “The Lead,” Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis expressed his strong stance on controversial transgender policies in the U.S. military. DeSantis emphasized the importance of the military’s primary objective: winning wars.
.@RonDeSantis on transgenderism: “In the military, it’s all about the mission first…People’s individuality….you do have to check that at the door…What role does someone that’s a man have in women’s activities?…I thin it’s wrong to have men compete in women’s sports” pic.twitter.com/gmaAs8yPjK

DeSantis firmly believes that the military’s focus should be on the mission at hand, leaving personal individuality at the door. He acknowledges that the military culture is unique in this regard. Furthermore, he raises concerns about men participating in women’s activities, such as sports, and the impact it has on fair competition for female athletes.
DeSantis also criticizes institutions that force girls to share locker rooms with men who identify as women. He argues that accommodating a very small percentage of the population should not disrupt society as a whole.
Speaking in South Carolina, DeSantis emphasized the need to restore the military’s core mission and remove the influence of a political agenda. He believes that instilling confidence, conviction, and patriotic duty in our institutions starts with revitalizing our military.
