The incident, which representatives for the campaign and super PAC declined to comment on, occurred amid rising tensions over the Florida governor’s fledgling campaign, which has struggled to gain traction amid former President Donald Trump’s continued dominance of the field and Haley’s recent polling surge.
While DeSantis has held on to the second-place spot in Iowa, Haley has moved ahead of him in New Hampshire and South Carolina. Trump, meanwhile, maintains a steady lead over the entire field.
