DeSantis drops to third place in latest national poll as Trump widens lead.

A new national poll showed 45th President Donald Trump expanding his ⁢lead over the competition in the GOP presidential field.​

Trump saw his support ⁤jump to 53.3% in the Republican primary, according to a new Cygnal poll. Vivek Ramaswamy overtook Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for second place⁢ with 11%. DeSantis was at 10%.

“DeSantis has plummeted from having 29%⁢ of the vote in⁤ March,”‍ the poll read.

Numerous other polls have shown Trump gaining ground and further distancing himself from DeSantis in early nominating states. A new⁣ J.L. Partners poll revealed that the 45th ⁤president held a 26% advantage over DeSantis in Iowa. DeSantis has seen his numbers dip by nine points since April.

A‌ new poll ‌by the⁤ New⁤ Hampshire Journal showed ⁤Trump holding ‍a 34% lead in the Granite State. ⁣DeSantis and former New Jersey Governor ​Chris Christie were tied for second place with 9% each.

Further, Trump holds a 39.1% lead over DeSantis for the Republican nomination, according‌ to RealClearPolitics polling average.

With momentum at ⁣his back, Trump is set ​to visit the Iowa State Fair this weekend with Florida Congress members‌ who endorsed him‍ over DeSantis.
