DeSantis urges Biden to allow Novak Djokovic into US: ‘Let him play’

DeSantis requested also that the Biden administration verify by March 10, that Djokovic can’t enter Florida by boat. In a footnote, he noted that Biden had issued an Oct. 25, 2021 proclamation “governs the entry into the United States of noncitizen nonimmigrants … by air. ”

“Your administration does not appear to have issued analogous restrictions for non-U.S. individuals seeking to enter our country by boat,” He also added a footnote.

Djokovic, who was barred from last year’s Australian Open tournament because he refused to get the COVID-19 shot, won the Australian Open earlier this year. Djokovic recently withdrew his participation in the Indian Wells tournament.

Djokovic is having difficulty getting into the U.S. in order to compete at the Miami Open. This Miami Open takes place from March 19th to April 2nd. His lack of vaccination has caused him to have difficulties. The outcry from Republicans and conservatives, such as Senators. Marco Rubio, R-FL), and Rick Scott (R.FL). urged Biden’s administration should relax and allow him to enter the U.S.
