CNN schedules Republican Town Hall without Trump.

CNN to Host Republican Presidential Town Hall with Nikki Haley

CNN has announced that it will host a town hall event with Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley in Iowa on June 4th. This comes after the network faced criticism for its handling of a recent town hall with former President Donald Trump, which drew cheers from the audience when he called host Kaitlan Collins a “nasty person.”

Now, CNN will try its hand at a similar event in Iowa with Haley alongside moderator Jake Tapper. The former South Carolina governor and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations will take questions from Tapper and a live audience comprised of Iowa Republicans and voters who have pledged to participate in the Republican caucuses.

The network has teased that more town halls with 2024 candidates might be around the corner. “Additional CNN Town Halls will be announced in the coming weeks,” it said.

Low Polling Numbers for Haley

So far, Haley has polled in the low single digits with likely Republican primary voters. The fight for the GOP nomination is expected to see a major shakeup on Wednesday night when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to formally enter the race.

What do you think about CNN’s decision to host another Republican town hall?

  • It’s a good opportunity for voters to hear from candidates.
  • It’s a desperate attempt to boost ratings.
  • It’s both.
