Detransitioner Chloe Cole to join rally supporting Tennessee amid SCOTUS hearing

Chloe Cole will head up a rally outside the Supreme Court on Wednesday morning as justices hear arguments in a case related to transgender procedures for minors.

Cole became known for documenting her own transition journey online, which began at the age of 12 when she became a boy. Six years later, Cole transitioned back to a female. She testified about her ordeal, which included a double mastectomy as a teenager, when she spoke before Congress last year.

The case and the oral arguments made in it relate to whether Tennessee’s Senate Bill 1 (SB1), a law barring puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries for minors, violates the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. Ahead of the rally, Cole wrote on X how the nation’s highest court will decide “whether or not it is constitutional to mutilate and sterilize kids” in this case.

“7 of the 9 justices on the Supreme Court are parents,” Cole wrote on X. “I hope that they look to their families and see that no child deserves to be told they were born in the wrong body.”

The rally Cole is attending is being organized by the organization Do No Harm.

Ahead of the Supreme Court’s hearing for arguments, Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti told the Washington Examiner in early October that SB1 is “directed at children and at protecting children from the irreversible effects of some very serious procedures.” The law comes as the topic of providing transgender procedures and surgeries has received an uptick in scrutiny over the years, drawing criticism from talk show host Dr. Phil on The Joe Rogan Experience

Prior to the 2024 election, Cole endorsed President-elect Donald Trump’s bid for the presidency, releasing an 8-minute video explaining her support for him. She also starred in an ad promoting Trump’s campaign, stating “he’s committed to protecting children” from making “rash decisions.”

Among the first campaign promises that Trump made for his 2024 bid was to end transgender surgeries for minors, calling these procedures “child abuse.” Vice President-elect J.D. Vance (R-OH) introduced the Protect Children’s Innocence Act in 2023, which would have made gender transition surgeries for children a Class C felony.
