Isabella Ayala, 20, is filing a ⁣lawsuit against the academy, claiming that they ‍deceived her and failed to inform her about the lifelong consequences of the ‍sex-change⁢ therapies ⁤they recommended and prescribed.

The‌ lawsuit states that Ayala was admitted to‍ the⁣ hospital at the age of ⁤14 due to‍ severe suicidal thoughts.

During her hospital stay, Ayala consulted with Dr.⁣ Jason Rafferty, ‍who⁤ quickly‌ concluded that she should consider hormonal transition, with the only obstacle ⁤being parental consent.

Just six⁣ months into her testosterone treatments, Ayala attempted suicide again, ‍according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit further alleges that Rafferty and other medical professionals⁤ pushed‌ her towards gender-affirming medical procedures instead of addressing the underlying causes of her mental health issues.

Despite her decision to stop the treatments after moving⁢ away from home, Ayala now regrets the procedures and is comfortable with her gender.

“Isabelle is now twenty‍ years old and‍ longs for what could have been and to‍ have her healthy, female body back,”⁢ it ⁣says. “The changes the testosterone have had on her ⁣body are a constant reminder that she needed an unbiased medical expert willing to evaluate⁢ her mental health and provide her the care she needed, rather than a group of ideologues set on promoting their own agenda and furthering a broader ‌conspiracy at her expense.”

The lawsuit argues that ⁤Ayala ‌is a victim⁢ of individuals who prioritized politics and ideology‌ over the safety, health, and well-being of children.

Prior⁤ to the suggestion of gender transition, Ayala had already ‌struggled with mental health ‍issues due to childhood sexual abuse.

The lawsuit⁤ also claims ⁤that Ayala’s doctors did not⁤ mention any alternative approaches to ‍address her mental health ⁢before initiating ⁤hormone and ⁣testosterone treatments.

Ayala was not fully informed ⁣about the ⁤potential risks of the drugs and the impact they ⁢could have on her reproductive system.

“Isabelle has suffered from vaginal atrophy from the extensive ‍use of testosterone; she deals with excess facial and body hair; ‌she ⁢struggles with compromised bone structure; she is unsure whether her fertility⁣ has been irreversibly compromised; she still has mental health issues and deals with episodes of anxiety and depression, further compounded by a sense ‍of regret; and she has ‌since contracted an autoimmune disease that only the males in her family have⁢ a history of,” ‌the lawsuit explains.
